the deputy steps down(part2)

My first fulltime job was with the Dept.of Supply and Services. It was a low ranking department because it was not a policy setting department.I was doing procurement research and I liked my job.A couple of times a man came to my desk in a green suit.He asked me if I liked my job and I said yes.He said you can do better in my branch;we do management consulting for the whole department and other departments. He said we have an opening in a month.I told him that I couldn't leave until my probation period was over and at least six months after. He came back and asked me how my probation period went and I told him it was okay.He told me to come up and try a competition and see how you do .I told him that I always do well in competitions.I tried it and got a job as a management consultant.I had already had some good projects in procurement as the deputy had published one of my reports and sent it out to other departments. Now the projects were bigger and we had two and three man teams;there was more to do in less time.My second project was done with an outside consultant and it went well. His dad was connected to the Avro Arrow and he was a Mensa.Very good.My third project was done for the Operational Planning Branch. The director had a special status and reported directly to the deputy.I worked with my director and the director  of the operational  planning branch dismissed him so I could work alone on the project. He was extremely pleased with the project as it was very important to his mandate. He offered me a job immediately three levels higher and assistant director within a year.I had already taken a competition as an economist which is what I was trained for and turned him down.He was very upset as he told me he had already informed the deputy that I would be working for him.I reported to the department of Communications where I worked as an economist. The director-general told me I was supposed to take a three week course in Ste. Jovite on management consulting.I told her that I already worked as a management consultant. She told me that I had no choice as the P.S.C. wanted me to go.The course was in Ste. Jovite(next to the Grey Rocks Inn,one of the best places in the Laurentians).I was told there that I did not have a room in the lodge.Instead I had a cottage surrounding a lake outside the lodge.Seven large cottages around a small lake and I had one.It was absolutely beautiful!Contact Blogdaleupsome for business consulting
