the price was too high

A previous blog talked about the fact that I had lost three houses in Cambridge,Ontario through three illegal evictions and three illegal foreclosures.I made  three Statement of  Claims in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.I was aware that the value of my three claims was more than the total equity I had in my three houses. The value of my equity in the houses was about $375,000 but I had asked for $325,000 plus $425,000 plus $275,000 for a grand total of $1,025,000.In addition, I made it clear that I was not asking for emotional damages in this claim. After all I suffered the emotional damage of living in a hostel for ten years and some time in jail and some time in a mental hospital largely from not having a permanent place to stay.Surely this was worth quite a bit.More importantly I believed that I was in a bargaining process.I would make an offer and the other side would counter with a lower offer.

However my claims were a clever disguise for asking for some compensation for the projects that everyone knew I had done and added to the value of many small technology companies. There was no direct correspondence with the companies and no direct purchase of shares for these companies. It was done through other people but fairly clear that I was doing the work behind it.So getting approval of $1,000,000 for my houses meant that my projects were of some value to Canadian business.Getting just my own equity back would not show much value for my work.Getting nothing back would show absolutely no appreciation for my work nor the process that I used.Instead I was shocked to find out that my court actions which I spent another $5000 on merited only a $10,000 fine for wasting the court's time.I was ,in fact, encouraged to not continue with my projects. And I countered by spending much less time on these projects.
