Lisa "the torch"
I talked yesterday about people I know in the Canadian media.I worked for Geoff Elliot,in Industry ,Trade and Commerce and he became Chief Operating Officer of Global TV. I worked with Lisa de Wilde while at C.R.T.C. and she became general manager of TVO.I spent three months with Moses Znaimer at a pay tv hearing and he founded CITY-TV.I spent hours and hours with Bob Rabinovitz who became president of the C.BC.But I never met Lisa "the torch" in person.
I went from having three houses in Cambridge to living in a hostel called The House of Friendship.When I was staying in Kitchener I met many tv crews on King Street;they wanted to interview me on being homeless.I always refused but I realized that they still got pictures of me.They came into the hostel and headed straight for me and asked if I wanted to talk about improving the hostel.I always said no but again they got a picture or two.I never saw Lisa but I saw three or four of her sisters.Jeff Hutchinson worked at CKCO also.Of course both got onto the show CANADA AM.I am almost positive that Lisa used these pictures to show me as a homeless guy with no education.I spent most of my day in the Kitchener library but when I went into the front room with big leather chairs, over would come their announcer Brent.He sat one chair away with a four foot palm tree between us .Brent would say "boy I had a tough day .How about you?Going to supper at your house soon?" Just two guys lying about what they do-one homeless and one a local tv star.What a wierd guy! All part of Lisa's expose on a homeless guy.
When Oktoberfest started they took me over to the old Valhalla Inn to meet the Oktobefest girls.What a joke?But Brent and Lisa found out that one of the girls liked me.She was from Alabama and she won Miss Oktoberfest.This upset the plot.On one of our dates we were interrupted by Ron Maclean of C.B.C. She had to go for two hours of interviews.See ya later.Thanks Ron!Still Lisa must have had a good story and that might have helped her get her job.One can only guess.
