Miss Oktoberfest 1996
I had come from Cambridge where I had three houses and an insurance business. Then I was on the street and so moved into a hostel called strangely The House of Friendship.I was given four dollars(personal needs allowance) and told that the Oktoberfest girls were over at the Valhalla Inn across the street.I went in and they put me with the girls.I had two choices for a seat and I picked the one next to the prettiest girl. Noone thought these girls would bother with a homeless guy living in the hostel. This was an attempt to embarrass me of course.I started talking politely to girls at the next table. One spoke right up,her name was Jaycee Prisket. This is how I met Jaycee.I came back every day to see Jaycee and we got along too good for the Oktoberfest organizers.I was told twice to stay away from her by organizers and twice she told me to ignore them.I asked to escort her to the dance and get a tuxedo. She said that was all arranged for her;her date was picked for her.She said she could spend Saturday morning with me and we agreed to meet at the Valhalla Inn. When she showed up suddenly Ron Maclean of C.B.C showed up to give her a two hour interview. She told me to meet her at the side door at 12:00 and I did She told me that Ron insisted that she have a chaperone with her now at all times. So I said goodbye.
I moved over to a group home in Waterloo and kept getting the local newspaper The Waterloo Chronicle on my bed.One day the custodian told me that a real pretty girl had come to see me three times and left me a note.It was inside the chronicle.I turned to page four and there was an ad for lingerie at a boutique in Waterloo.Inside she wrote "show up Sunday".I did but she wasn't there. She lead me to believe that she was shadowed or guarded ever since Ron Maclean showed up.You could never prove it but the scuttlebutt was that Paul Martin was trying to marry her and Ron was helping him.Where do these silly rumors start?
