the London capers(part2)
After I found the relevant statutes that applied to third party defence and to the jurisdiction problems in Ontario Annual Practices, I made a letter to the City Solicitor,Jim Barber. The meeting was to be set up for Monday,August 25.It was my cheque day. However strangely enough the London police arrested me on August 24 on a 19 month old warrant coming out of Toronto. As it turns out my old friend Bonnie Philpot had organized it with an assistant crown attorney called Michael Innis. It was for three chages of failure to appear. The London police drove me to Toronto(Norfinch police station). The two police officers checked with the sergeant at the desk to see if there were any outstanding warrants. The sergeant told them that he had radioed them several times to say that there were no warrants and so he repeated it again. So the two London police officers asked him to check C-PIC and he did.Once again there were no warrants. The sergeant told them to release me and they became very angry and put hands on their holsters.I was about to be released when a paddy wagon pulled up and a
corporal put me in it.The sergeant told him there were no warrants and he said he didn't care.I went over to Scarborough East and stayed there for ninety days.I went to court several times but it was useless as there were no charges.I was released after ninety days and never did get to see Jim Barber.
