Manufacturer's Life beats Estimates by a big Margin

    Manufacturer's Life has a busy bulletin board;it is filled with information on purchases and organization changes and news on subsidiaries that this blog missed their second quarter results.It was there but just hard to see.But a reblog of a British service showed things very clearly and now it is hard to see why it was so well hidden.Manufacturer's Life had a quite good quarter.As the blog called Pro Trader Daily states their diluted e.p.s was up by 79% and core diluted e.p.s. up by almost 45%. All divisions performed well.
Segment Reports

                        Total revenues increased from $15.25 billion to $17.25 billion in 2017.But this was the first time MFC reported it's results in segments; there are 3 divisions and 3 classes of assets.So we can see that in the Asia division core earnings went from $266 million in Q2 2016 to $301 million in 2017.And we can also see that total revenues went from $7.5 billion to $5.55 billion in the U.S division.There were slight increases in debt assets and mortgage assets and a large 10% increase in real estate assets.While total assets under management (AUM) rose slightly to $1.01 trillion.
      Forecasted earnings (e.p.s)
  The segment reports are helpful;it shows which segments are contributing more and which less.MFC needs to do a lot of work on improving the contribution from their U.S. Division.And they are doing better with their real estate assets.Last year their e.p.s. in Q3 was well down from the second quarter;this is a trend they hope to avoid in 2017.Assuming they improve but only slightly over the 2016 trend they still should have annual e.p.s. of about $1.90 to $2.00 per share.And keeping the same P/E/ ratio, Manufacturer's Life probably has a floor at $27 and any performance above $2.00 should easily send the stock price to $30.This assumes that the U.S. Division doesn't do as badly as in the second quarter.Americans are forecasting a small interest rate increase in the third quarter and this will improve their return on investment income and help drive the stock above $27.            use Blogdaleupsome for financial https://www.otpp.com/forecasts ;
