Chorus Aviation spreads it's wings

Recently Chorus Aviation released it's third
quarter report. In it they announced that they had started a new relationship,of sorts, with a carrier called Air Nostrum.Apparently it is a fairly large carrier(75,000 annual flights) that is connected to the large European air line  Iberia. The extent of the relationship is not clear but it is clear that Air Nostrum has agreed  to lease 4 CRJ 1000 aircraft from Chorus. No mention of whether this gives Chorus some equity in Air Nostrum or even whether it already had some equity in it.But it is clear that Air Nostrum should be able to lease the aircraft itself. The apparent reason for this deal is that Chorus is getting preferential loan rates from Export Development Canada and Chorus is leasing them at a cheaper rate than  otherwise could be obtained. However it is also possible that Air Nostrum may not be able to get delivery of this new C-series plane so quickly.

                  4 CRJ 1000's
A picture of the CRJ1000 is shown above;it is much sleeker and more advanced technologically and has greater passenger capacity than almost any other regional aircraft. It is a new C-series jet built by Bombardier and Chorus has some kind of replacement arrangement with Bombardier. So there is a chance that Air Nostrum could not get 4 CRJ 1000's by itself until much later.Whatever the reason for Chorus leasing the aircraft to Air Nostrum this is an inroad to some kind of future relationship between the two carriers. And it may also be the start of a new leasing arrangement of CRJ 1000s that Chorus has with Bombardier. It is a very nice-looking regional aircraft and may open another source of revenue to Chorus Aviation.
